Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Iverson

Saturday - March 27, 2010 - A wonderful day in St. George, Utah! Tom and Amber were married in the St. George Temple. This also happens to be the temple that Steve and I were married in 34 years ago!

Steve and I LOVED being in the temple with Tom & Amber, Stephanie & Craig, Jen & Nick, Sean & Toni, my dad, Jim & Tammy, Derek & Jen, Mike & Ty, Aunt Pat & Darin & Cindy, Mike & Jackie, Chris & Ross, Kellee & Dan, Vicki & Dave, plus Tom's friends and Amber's family and friends.

Saturday evening we enjoyed a delicious dinner in Cedar City and great entertainment provided by Amber's musical brothers. Then Tom and Amber left for their honeymoon cruise to the Mexican Riviera.

Now our nest is empty. We're too old to start over again, so we'll spoil the grandchildren...and enjoy being with each other.

A Special Valentine's Day

We spent Valentine's Day in Lehi to attend Church with Stef and Craig and the kids. Green Park Ward got a new bishopric yesterday with Craig becoming the new bishop. We know that Craig will be a wonderful bishop and Stef will be a fantastic "mother of the ward." We were very relieved that Stephanie was able to handle all the stress of speaking in church and feeding alot of people -- even though she was having strong labor pains!

(This is a picture of Craig and the kids that was taken in July.)

I'm getting another beautiful daughter!

Congratulations to Tom and Amber who were officially engaged today on Super Bowl Sunday. Since Amber is a fanatic Colts fan, Tom gave her a "Good Luck Colts" gift bag that contained a Colts license plate cover, a bottle of Sparkling Cider, two champagne glasses, and a pair of Colts ski gloves. On the ring finger of the left ski glove was her beautiful diamond ring! The wedding is planned for March 27th and we are so happy to have Amber join our family!!!!

Good-bye Tonsils

Tom said "good-bye and good riddance" to the evil tonsils today. He has been sick since October with fevers and a terrible sore throat. The antibiotics weren't working and he was told to see a ears, nose & throat specialist. Well, he kept putting it off until his true love Amber finally said "ENOUGH" and got him in to see a specialist in Cedar. After the surgery this morning the nurse told us "I've never, never, never seen tonsils like that!" The doctor told us it was a good thing that they were removed because he had an encapsulated abscess in one of his tonsils. That is a bad thing to have! Now he has the miserable chore of recovery from surgery. Poor Tom - good luck in that department!

Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve was celebrated in a great way this year. The kids and grandkids came for a party. Everyone was able to come except Sean and Toni -- and we REALLY missed them! So anyway, Tom started off the party with the all important 1st step: Pull faces for the camera!!!!!

The 2nd step for a successful party is to load up on food -- YEA FOR THE FOOD!!

The final step for an awesome party is to HAVE FUN!!!!!

Remember to take a power nap in order to continue!!!

LET'S LOOK FORWARD TO A GREAT 2010!!!

Finally took the tree down!

Wow - I've really been slow this time in taking the Christmas tree down. But before I got busy tearing things apart, I took some pictures:

Ahh - it was so pretty.

A Christmas weekend in Salt Lake City

On Friday Steve and I went to Salt Lake and met up with our friends, Chris and Ross Stevens. We froze (truly we did!) as we walked around Temple Square and The Gateway, but we did enjoy the beautiful lights.

Warming our frozen bodies at The Gateway

The highlight of Friday night was Kurt Bestor's Christmas Concert. Thanks to our friends for a fun evening in the city. Let's do it again next year!

We spent Saturday doing a bit of Christmas shopping along with 4 million other people and in the evening we ended up at the Jensen home in Lehi. Steve and I watched the kids while their parents went to The Forgotten Carols and -- I must admit-- I slept through most of Santa Buddies and The Polar Express that the girls had me watch. Alex caught me sleeping (I wonder if my mouth was hanging open) and said, "Grandma! Open your eyes!" I told her I was just resting my eyes for a minute..or two..or ten. Hmmm - Granny better pay more attention to the movies from now on!

Sunday morning Steve and I went to The Tabernacle Choir's Christmas Concert with Tom and Amber. Natalie Cole was the guest performer and she was awesome. And of course, the Choir was so amazing.

When we went into the Conference Center it was raining and when we came out it was snowing...really hard! But the snow made the city beautiful and seemed to make a picture perfect end to our Christmas weekend.

SNOW!

Tell me it isn't so! Summer wasn't here long enough -- didn't we only have a couple of months with the sunshine? Oh well, I guess I'll just have to stop whining and pull out the thermal underwear! (Must be time for a trip to Hawaii!)

DON'T HUNT ON SUNDAY!

I have always taught my boys that they should not hunt on Sunday - it is a day of rest for mankind and animals alike. So now that Sean is all grown up and does what he wants - he chose to hunt deer on Sunday. I wisely told him that he would not find a deer to shoot because it was Sunday.

Look what the devil sent!

It's a GIRL!

Stephanie and Craig found out today that "Number Four" child is a girl! Payt won't get his little brother, but he still will have his own bedroom (there are certain perks to being the only brother or sister in the family -- this I know!!). Now we can start submitting names for the little sweetie. How about Cynthia Precious Jensen???? Hmmmm, I think I like it!!! Or.....this is the name my grandpa always called me: Cindy Pindy. Grandpa was such a clever man... so is the vote for Cindy Pindy Jensen? My brothers called me LeeLee (speech impediments) so we could try for LeeLee Sweetie Jensen. Wow - I'm on a roll now. I had an attorney call me Cindifer - so we could see about Cindifer Lucy Jensen (I named my chickens Lucy - its a cool name - all six chickens have the same name). Anyway -- welcome to our family little Cynthia Precious Cindy Pindy LeeLee Sweetie Cindifer Lucy Jensen!!

Otter Creek State Park

Steve and I bought a new trailer and decided to head to Otter Creek for a "test drive" weekend with Jen and her two kids. Sean brought his trailer and camped next to us.

The weekend was partly cloudy, windy, and cold at nights -- and the trailer's heater worked great!

Sean was drowning a lot of worms on Saturday. And when it was dark he terrorized the crawdads.

Steverino the great fisherman -- Sean and I witnessed his fight against the Loch Ness Monster!

Carly and Carter on their first camping trip. Carter loved the campfire in the evenings. His job was to throw little sticks into the fire and roast marshmallows for the s'mores. Carly's job was to sleep while snuggled in her warm blanket.

And to top off our trip: Beautiful nights with a full moon reflecting on the sparkling water.

Another birthday?

I had another birthday yesterday -- am I older and wiser? Nope - older and MEANER!!!
