My Hero - My Dad

On September 10, 2014 my dad was honored as a Korean War Peace Ambassador at the Utah State Capitol.  He was presented with a beautiful medal and certificate, along with a large book containing pictures of the Korean War.

Dad was a tender young man from Meadow, Utah when he was thrown into the violent Battle of Inchon Harbor.  He has repressed many memories throughout his life since this war, but the nightmares have remained.  We who are blessed to live in this free country must always be grateful to those brave people who have fought for our freedoms.  There are those who have protected us and there are those who continue to protect us.  I thank God for their unselfish service to the citizens of the United States of America.

Thank you Dad.  I love you.

Pieces of April....

BEFORE.....1970's

Steve and I went to a Three Dog Night Concert in St. George Friday night and it was SO AMAZING! Another thing that was amazing was the fact that I could still sing along with them on all their songs! (The brain isn't totally dead yet.) But the burning question still remains: Why were there so many OLD people at that concert??????

And then there were EIGHT!

We were honored to have Tom and Amber bless their son Trey in our ward during Labor Day weekend. Trey Stephen was blessed by Thomas Stephen and Stephen A. was one of many priesthood holders that participated in the blessing.

Tom, Amber and Trey

Grandma and Grandpa with the guest of honor.

Trey Stephen sporting a tux!

Now let's count the little darlings:
Carly Joyce

Payten Craig

Carter Gene and Jaelee Shay

Alexis Anne with Uncle Sean

Addison Leigh with her mom and grandpa

Trey Stephen

Kamryn Dee

And then there were eight -- and we are so blessed.

Carly turns two!

This is a perfect picture of sheer joy at having a birthday! Carly turned two in August and LOVED being the center of attention at her party.

Her mom made her a "Carly-Bug" cake.

Two years old and already pondering her future!

The great-grandpa's enjoy a cake and ice cream party.

Carly shows Grandpa De her new kitchen. He wants her to fry him an egg, but she needs to heat up her baby's bottle.

We sure do love you little Carly-Bug!
