And then there were EIGHT!

We were honored to have Tom and Amber bless their son Trey in our ward during Labor Day weekend. Trey Stephen was blessed by Thomas Stephen and Stephen A. was one of many priesthood holders that participated in the blessing.

Tom, Amber and Trey

Grandma and Grandpa with the guest of honor.

Trey Stephen sporting a tux!

Now let's count the little darlings:
Carly Joyce

Payten Craig

Carter Gene and Jaelee Shay

Alexis Anne with Uncle Sean

Addison Leigh with her mom and grandpa

Trey Stephen

Kamryn Dee

And then there were eight -- and we are so blessed.

Carly turns two!

This is a perfect picture of sheer joy at having a birthday! Carly turned two in August and LOVED being the center of attention at her party.

Her mom made her a "Carly-Bug" cake.

Two years old and already pondering her future!

The great-grandpa's enjoy a cake and ice cream party.

Carly shows Grandpa De her new kitchen. He wants her to fry him an egg, but she needs to heat up her baby's bottle.

We sure do love you little Carly-Bug!

Willi - my dear friend

July brought the loss of my dear friend Willi Charrie Moore (I called her C.Moore and she called me Cynthia). She was buried in Ogden on July 27th - my mom's 80th birthday. Willi was my best friend in Fillmore Elementary School and helped me learn my times tables in 4th grade. I moved away in 6th grade but moved back to Meadow in 10th grade and our friendship continued on -- It seemed like I'd never been gone. We split up again when we went to college - I went to Dixie and Willi went to BYU. We met up again when Willi's dad died and she moved back to Fillmore to stay with her mom. We spent a fun year chasing guys and planning to moved to Phoenix together for a great adventure. But then a miracle happened and I fell in love and got married to my sweet Steve. (Willi was my maid of honor.) She moved to North Ogden with her mom and lived there for the rest of her life. I will miss our phone calls and the visits to each others homes. She was a very wonderful friend - my BFF. Love ya C.Moore!!!

Good-bye Uncle Ray...

This morning in the early hours my uncle Ray continued on in his eternal adventure. My uncle is probably the sweetest man I've ever know - soft-spoken and extremely kind. Ray is my dad's younger brother by 5 years. This is a picture of Afton and Ray at Grandpa Orvil's funeral.

I have very fond memories of my uncle. He always lived far away - but when he'd come to Meadow I'd have so much fun with him and my cousins. He was always laughing and teasing me. This is a picture of Ray on his mission in California, Grandpa and Grandma Beckstrand, and my dad the sailor.

This is such a darling picture of Ray and Dad. Such cute little boys. They went without a mother for about four or five years, but then Grandpa married Grandma Dorothy and she took such good care of her new little family. Their birth mother, Grace, died three days after Ray was born.

Now Uncle Ray is being greeted by his mother Grace, his other mother Dorothy, his father Orvil, his sister-in-law and my mom Joyce. Love you Uncle Ray and thanks for loving me.

FISH-EYE LENSE

While waiting for the fireworks to start on July 4th - I discovered a strange group of alien creatures. As the darkness closed in around us, the creatures became more animated and seemed to enjoy posing for my camera:

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!
